Gulab Jamun    


  • 1 cup full cream milk powder    
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 baking soda
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • milk ( for making dough )
  • 2 cup sugar ( for syrup )
  • 1 cup water
Make the dough by combining all ingredients. Make 20 smooth balls from it by gently rolling dough between your palms. Fry the ball in the oil on medium heat till golden brown. Once they are cooked, they will rise to the surface of the pan. 

To make syrup:

Boil the sugar in the water, with cardamom, saffron or rose water for around 10-15 minutes or till sugar dissolves.
Add fried balls into the warm syrup and leave it overnight.

  • 1/2 cup uncooked white rice  
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 4 pieces cardamom
  • 2 tsp rose water or pinch of saffron (optional )
  • 2 quarts milk 
  • 1/4 cup of chopped almonds, cashews
Soak rice for around 1 hour. Boil milk in the big heavy saucepan,add drained rice and saffron ( optional ).  Cook for around 45-50 minutes or until rice is tender, stirring occasionally. Stir in sugar and cardamom, cook for another 20 minutes. Add rose water ( optional ) and set aside. Top with crushed or chopped almond and cashews.



Gajar Ka Halwa (Carrot Pudding)
-->200  grams (about 8  oz.) carrots grated

  • -->1  cup(s) milk 
  •  
  • -->2  tablespoon(s) condensed milk 
  •  
  • -->2  tablespoon(s) fresh cream 
  •  
  • -->4  tablespoons fine sugar 
  •  
  • -->2  tablespoon(s) ghee (clarified butter) 
  •  
  • -->A little cardamom powder, and chopped nuts (like almonds and raisins).

    Pour ghee (clarified butter) in a pan and heat it for on medium heat till it is hot. Add the grated carrots and mix it well. Fry the carrots for about 10 minutes or until it is cooked. Mix milk, sugar and condensed milk and add it to the carrots. Cook it uncovered on low heat for about 7 minutes, while stirring it periodically. Dot it with fresh cream. Sprinkle cardamom powder and chopped nuts. Keep on low heat for about 2 minutes. Serve it hot or cold. 


    Besan Ladoo
    • Besan - 4 cups (a bit thicker than ordinary)
    • Sugar - 2 cups (powdered)
    • Almonds (Badam) - 20-25 nos. (chopped)
    • Ghee - 1 cup
    • Cardamom powder. - 1 tsp

    Heat the ghee in a pan. Add besan in small quantities and mix it well. Stir it occasionally on low heat. When you feel the fresh smell of the besan, remove it from heat and let it cool down. Add the powdered sugar to it and mix it well. Add the almonds to it and shape the mixture into balls. Make sure thy tightly held so that they don’t crack..
